Cinco de Mayo a fun and festive event
The noon time clouds parted on Saturday just in time to kick off the annual Cinco de Mayo Festival held at George Pyle Park in downtown Hutchinson.
Fun and festive were words often spoken by the 300 who attended the four-hour event, which offered more entertainment and dining options for all ages than time permitted.
Pastor Josue’ Pineda of Grace Bible Church in Hutchinson served as chairman and coordinated a myriad of activities.
Pineda said a part of his responsibilities at Grace Bible Church includes the Spanish ministry within the organization. He said he was at home heading up the annual observance and knows the story of events that created Cinco de Mayo.
