I also have an unprofessional comment about the caption beneath her photo, from Sherman Smith at the Kansas Reflector: "Jade Piros de Carvalho, director of the Kansas Office of Broadband Development, says the U.S. Department of Commerce approved the state's framework for distribution of $451 million in federal aid to improve home and business access to high-speed internet services."

Our farm has suffered for 24 years of either non-existent, spotty, low bandwidth, extremely expensive internet access. We've been hearing for 24 years that various governing agencies are on this. Money's been given, research has been done, and we've answered lot of questions and surveys about what we need, and it's never happened. 451 million dollars now? This time it should definitely make a difference!

Can you do more research? Now I'm wondering what she said, to whom, and if there were any underlying resentment possible that could have contributed to this young woman getting fired for making a badly-aimed crack at something or someone? If she was "flabbergasted" it sounds like there's a story here.
