National Day of Prayer honored in Hutchinson
Hutchinson churches and community members celebrated the National Day of Prayer, a federally recognized day when people are asked "to turn to God in prayer and meditation.”
One of those events happened at New Resurrection Church, located at 1001 East 3rd Ave, with a worship service open to all people wanting to come together and pray.
Pastor Charles Crumble, Sr., of New Resurrection Church said the event is held annually by the church. He said two events happened in Hutchinson recognizing the day, one in the morning at Inspire Church and the evening service being held at New Resurrection Church.
“Be in prayer for those who are less fortunate,” Crumble said. “Be in prayer for those in authority, our government, our military, family, the family structure, our churches as we try to combine to be together as one.”
Crumble recommended the community focus on praying and loving others around them.
“Just come together in prayer and agreence and our unity throughout the world,” Crumble said.
Crumble thanked the community and churches who came together to sponsor the day.
